THE VIETTI STORY
‘The history of Vietti winery started with making wine four generations ago, in the middle of the 19th Century, but only became a winery at the beginning of the last Century.
At first, Mario Vietti and then later with the addition of Alfredo Currado, who is the husband of Luciana Vietti , the family continued to produce high quality wines from their own vineyards as well as purchased grapes.
So, the Vietti winery grew to one of the top-level wineries in the area, and was one of the first wineries to export their products in the US market.
In 1952, Alfredo Currado a bright wine maker, was one of the first to select and vinify grapes from single vineyards, as from the Brunate, Rocche, and Villero vineyards. Then in 1967 he invested a lot of time to rediscover and understand the Arneis that is now the most famous white wine from Roero area.
Today, a famous wine writer says of Vietti, that “it’s always a family winery and it’s highly specialized to produce different type of DOC and DOCG wines.’
