WHEN THE BEST OF ITALY INFLUENCES THE GREATNESS OF SCOTLAND THE BRUICHLADDICH ITALIAN COLLECTION IS THE WHISKY THAT WE GET!
"Bruichladdich (try ‘Brook-Laddie’) is a Gaelic reference to the ‘raised beach’ upon which the distillery is sited, on the Hebridean Isle of Islay, on Scotland’s wild west coast. Built in 1881 by William Harvey and his brothers, it was closed down in 1994 as "surplus to requirements". On 19th December 2000 it was acquired by a small group of private investors led by Mark Reynier. Following extensive renovation, the distillery recommenced distilling on the 29th May 2001. Bruichladdich, now a private Scottish company operated, managed and directed on Islay. Scotland’s purest single malt whisky is made from an unusual marriage of manual C19 equipment, inspirational distillery design and pre-industrial distilling techniques. 500,000 litres are distilled annually from 100% Scottish barley – increasingly Organic and Islay grown –from different farms (terroirs), varieties and peating levels."

"Colour: Fantastically rich amber
Body: Medium to light bodied
Aroma: We are immediately hit with the smoothness of caramel and vanilla. Add to that a wonderful sweetness of blackcurrant and cranberry and delicate floral notes of roses and geraniums and you are somewhere close to understanding the true complexity of this outstanding malt.
Palate: The sweetness of syrup-coated berries is first to hit the palate but the true earthy character of the wine can be experienced through ripe plums and blackcurrant fruits. The delicious wine character then pays its respect to the lead by making way for the vanilla and the spicy peppers from the Bourbon cask.
Finish: A truly long lasting flavour of toasted almonds and vanilla."

Bruichladdich Sassicaia Cask Finish 14yrs Bruichladdich Sassicaia Cask Finish 14yrs
Colour: Burnt Orange
Body:Medium. Superbly smooth but weighted with impressive power
Aroma:Fantastic, this malt literally jumps out the glass and powers its way on to your olfactory senses! The Sassicaia Bolgheri’s fruity aromas are first to hit with peaches, pomegranate and strawberries providing the initial introductions. Next it’s the turn of the ripe grapes and some green fruit to make an appearance. Note able throughout the experience is the charming caramel, vanilla and sweet oak from the American casks. A little water frees up some mild spice and sweet toasted oats.
Palate: Although the fruity aromas continue to impress on the taste, we are also rewarded with floral notes of honeysuckle and lavender. These unite with juicy sun sweet ripe oranges and a slight hint of creamy chocolate to create a wonderfully flavoursome and smooth palate. Vanilla and malted barley from the Laddie malt are still detectable on the addition of water.
Finish: This smooth Italian operator departs swiftly with a cheeky wink that’s says it knows you’ll definitely be back for more!
