THE STORY

One of California’s best and most consistent sparkling wines is Roederer Estate’s special Tete de Cuvée, “l’Ermitage”a blend of 52% Chardonnay and 48% Pinot Noir. This outstanding product has consistently been rated very highly since the debut vintage back in 1989. We have downed more than a few bottles of l’Ermitage over the years, and add our voices to those who sing its praises!

Fine tiny bubbles and a long lasting mousse are the usual footprints of the L'Ermitage cuvée. This cuvée from the palindromic vintage 2002 is showing great notes of "tarte tatin": baked apples and buttery crust, with notes of apricot and delicate vanilla bean. The mouth feel is creamy, expresses flavors of quince, and bread crust with a clean and crisp yet long finish.
