| THE STORY | |||||||
|
Waterbrook Winery was founded in 1984 by Eric and Janet Rindal and is located in Washington State's lovely Walla Walla Valley. This name was chosen to complement the translation from Nez Perce Indian dialect for the name Walla Walla, meaning "running water". Production has slowly increased to a total of 30,000 cases annually. From the beginning, Waterbrook wines gathered accolades for being great values. In fact, wine writer Anthony Dias Blue wrote in his Pocket Guide to Wine (2006) that Waterbrook was a: “Nearly definitive Washington State winery; top choice for genuinely expressive wines of moderate prices.” Which brings us to today’s offer. Wine Spectator just reviewed Waterbrook’s 2007 Columbia Valley Merlot Reserve and gave it an impressive 92 points. This is a breakthrough rating for this wine, signaling that Waterbrook has taken Merlot to a higher level. We are big fans of Washington State Merlot. They tend to be both delicious and reasonably priced. In that regard, the Waterbrook Merlot Reserve 2007 is a winner all the way at any price. At $16.99, our one day sale price, this is an extraordinarily great deal! |
