|
Today, we focus exclusively on one producer: Mauro Molino, whose wines represent the best of both worlds as they are of high quality and sell at modest prices. Once Molino’s wines have passed through Wine Legend’s “Legendary Pricing,” this offer can’t be beat. Literally. Located just down the hill from the Revello brothers’ estate, Mauro Molino’s winery sits only about 100 meters from the noble “Conca” vineyard of the Annunziata. Mauro first bottled in 1985, and makes just a few hundred cases a year of cru Barolo, now assisted by his son Matteo. Parker describes Molino’s Barolo as a “…delicious, tasty fruit bomb. These are often massive wines that have the potential to last over 20 years.” The harmonious Barolo normale was awarded two glasses by the Gambero Rosso Guide and 91 points Spectator! And while the main focus of this offering is Molino’s terrific Barolos, his “simple” Nebbiolo Langhe is a great bargain for pure Nebbiolo fruit without extended oak-aging. Recent vintages have been awarded a slew of 90+ point ratings across the board by all of the major international publications! At $12, this wine is an insanely good deal. |

Mauro Molino Barolo 2006
Regular Price : $36.99 Sale Price: $24.99 “The 2006 Barolo offers good length in a soft, accessible style. Red fruits, sweet herbs and menthol linger on the lithe finish. Mauro Molino’s 2006 Barolos are among the most forward examples of the vintage, and are excellent choices for readers looking for wines to enjoy with a minimum of cellaring.” Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate

“The 2005 Barolo Vigna Gallinotto is a soft, harmonious offering. This feminine, fruit-driven Barolo reveals plenty of cherries, new leather, spices and sweet toasted oak in a round, soft style. The wine’s impeccable balance should allow it to develop nicely over the coming years.” 92 Points The Wine Advocate |

“Ruby with a purple tinge. The aromas of sweet Oriental spices, black cherry and blackberry syrup are downright seductive. Juicy and smooth, with sound acidity giving the dark fruit flavors a penetrating quality. This seamless wine finishes balanced and long, with suave tannins.” 90 Points, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar |
