THE STORY

Those of you who appreciate wines that offer lots of bang for the buck should listen up. Today’s offering was meant for you.

The Aglianico grape does not have the widespread fame of Brunello or Nebbiolo, but connoisseurs of Italian wine know that a great Aglianico del Vulture can be awesome.

Aglianico del Vulture comes from the region of Basilicata. The better vineyards are planted entirely on the volcanic soil of Monte Vulture, about 80 miles east of Naples. In the hands of brilliant winemaker Mario Bisceglia, in a top vintage like 2006, you have the ingredients for a great wine. That’s what today’s offering is all about. As Antonio Galloni wrote: “Mario Bisceglia's stylish wines continue to get better and better with each passing vintage. Even better, these delicious reds offer incredible quality for the money." We couldn’t say it better ourselves.
