THE STORY
“Señorio de San Vicente, a single vineyard, represents the dream of the Eguren family. It is a long-term project which started with the planting of the vineyard in the early 80s, and finished with the building of the winery stone-by-stone. The winery is directed by Miguel Angel Eguren; the winemaker is Marcos Eguren. This is a historic winery because it the first one to bottle this clone of Tempranillo by itself, and it may be the first winery in Rioja to use the concept of high density planting.”

San Vicente Rioja Tempranillo 2003
The 2003 San Vicente, a single vineyard cuvee, is 100% Tempranillo Peludo, a clone notable for producing tiny berries. The wine was aged for 20 months in 100% new French and American oak and bottled unfiltered. Dark ruby-colored, the wine offers an attractive perfume of earth, cinnamon, graphite, and black currants. This is followed by a dense yet smoothly textured wine with superior concentration and length. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 10 years.
