THE STORY
"Pinino wine estate was founded in 1874 in the famous part of Montalcino, Montosoli and Pinino wines were always regarded as one of the best Brunellos in Montalcino. In 2003, the property was purchased by Andrea and Hannes Gamon of Austria together with Silvia and Max Hernandez of Spain with the vision to produce 1st class wines, derived from a common passion.
The Pinino philosophy is very simple. Brunello and Rosso are produced according to the old traditions of Montalcino and finished in large oak wood barrels from Slavonian oak. A clear focus on achieving the highest possible quality for both the vineyard and the wine-cellar will allow Pinino to reach the objective of becoming one of the leading Italian
winemakers."

Pinino Rosso Di Montalcino 2006

The Rosso di Montalcino is produced from the same grapes as the Brunello. In the refinement phase this wine has a shorter period of maturing and ready for drinking only two years after the vintage. The Rosso di Montalcino is harmonious, elegant and spicy and a perfect match to a large variety of meals. When being sold, it is ready for drinking and it strikes the connoisseur at the first sip. The Rosso di Montalcino can be enjoyed while young and does not necessarily have to be seasoned (being stored) even though it matures well with increasing age and the tannins become even more elegant.
Characteristics of our Rosso di Montalcino: Bright ruby-red color, full taste of ripe, red fruit and berries, smooth fruit, classical Sangiovese notes, pleasing and well balanced tannin, middle body, fruity final and smooth fruity aftertaste.
