THE STORY
"The Azienda Agricola Bisceglia is situated on the lower slopes of Mount Vulture, an extinct volcano in the splendid district of Lavello, officially recognized as "Wine Town" and an old farming community in the Basilicata Region in Southern Italy.
The Estate extends over uncontaminated hillside rich in flora and fauna, characterized by a Mediterranean microclimate. A natural balance of temperature changes characterizes this area, conferring remarkable fertility to the calcareous and clay soil. The firm has over seventy-two acres of vines in the heart of the Aglianico DOC appellation, split among single varieties of Aglianico, Fiano, Merlot and a selection of international vine varieties. The remaining 30 acres of the estate are dedicated to olive groves of local and traditional varieties. Selection of the finest raw materials and rigorous testing during all production stages are the firm’s principles for obtaining best quality value. The wines are aged in oak casks and refined in the bottle in order to create a greater smoothness and structure."
